A Brief History of Dartford Gymnastics Club.
The club was first established in 1971 (nearly 52 years ago) and was based at Sutton at Hone Primary School near Dartford, Kent.
The club started in conjunction with the school after the headmistress watched the children cart-wheeling in the playground and saw the need for them to be taught correctly and Cliff Durke took on the challenge
In 2008 the club's name was changed to Dartford Gymnastics and is now based at Dartford Science and Technology College, Heath Lane, Dartford, DA1 2LY. Where it has continued to thrive and has a waiting list, as numbers are limited in each group.
The club as a whole has a very safe and friendly atmosphere. Coaches and staff are British Gymnastics Qualified and insured to the highest levels.
The club has held the British Gymnastics ClubMark Award (formerly GymMark) since it's inception.
This means that British Gymnastics, Sport England and the Home County Sports Councils recognise that Dartford Gymnastics Club is a safe, effective, professionally run, child friendly club, which provides a service within the community that young people and their parents can trust and enjoy.
Parents of children who are members of a ClubMark accredited club should feel confident that their children are enjoying gymnastics in a safe and child-friendly environment.
